About Michael

I'm a current 2L at Columbia Law School, where I transferred after finishing my 1L year in the top 5% of my class at Brooklyn Law School. That experience — going through 1L, excelling, and earning a transfer to one of the top law schools in the country — is the foundation of everything I teach.
I know exactly what professors are looking for because I've recently lived the process myself. I didn't just survive 1L, I figured out the system, and I've built a teaching method around passing that knowledge directly to students who are in the middle of it right now.
My approach is practical, structured, and honest. I don't waste session time on things that won't move your grade. Every lesson is focused on building the analytical and writing skills that actually determine class rank — because at the end of the day, that's what matters in 1L.

About the lesson

1L is the hardest academic year most people will ever face — and most students are left to figure it out alone. I know because I've been there.
I finished my 1L year in the top 5% of my class at Brooklyn Law School, which earned me a transfer to Columbia Law School. The difference between struggling and excelling came down to one skill: knowing how to think and write like a lawyer using the CREAC framework.
My sessions are built around that framework. Whether it's Contracts, Torts, Civil Procedure, Property, Criminal Law, or Constitutional Law, every lesson focuses on teaching you how to spot issues, apply rules precisely, and write analysis that actually earns points on exams — not just memorizing doctrine.
A typical session starts by diagnosing where your analysis breaks down, then we work through problems together until you can execute a complete CREAC response on your own. No fluff, no generic outlines — just the skills that separate A students from everyone else.
