About George

I have a lot of excitement and passion for music, specifically for free flow expression through songwriting on the piano and voice. I wish to share this excitement with my students and help you discover your individual spark and creative expression.

About the lesson

My experience comes from mainly Jazz Piano and Songwriting, though I have also studied Classical Piano. With understanding of music theory, am I able to teach this alongside. As mentioned above, I'm also a Songwriter so can help you find your unique, individual voice , whether that be through simply the piano, or piano and singing.

With my confident approach to teaching, I can help you progress efficiently, embedding practical techniques as well as securing understanding of harmony, varieties of scales, with the intent to get you playing your favourite songs with confidence or making your own songs! Of course, lessons are created around your preferences, to boost potentiality, whether that be in a particular genre of music, through improvisation or doing graded syllabuses.

I bring a playful, charismatic and silly attitude to life, so excel in teaching children and adults alike; by being understanding, empathetic and a good listener. I can also provide alternative tools to progress such as breathing techniques, to help you to be calm and confident when performing.

Perfect! George is a great teacher. He is friendly and helpful, and I enjoy my lessons with him. If I am looking to learn something specific, he is able to help; he also offers good suggestions and guidance if I’m undecided.

He makes an impressive effort. One time, I showed him a song on my phone and told him I wanted to learn it, and by our next lesson, he had learned it himself. He also makes notes, which he shares with me on WhatsApp, so it’s easy to keep track of what I’m working on between lessons.

I have been his student for two months, and it’s definitely been helpful to have his support.

I kid you not, in my first lesson as a complete beginner piano player, I learned + remembered so much it felt like I had gone through 5 lessons already.
