About Patrick
I'm currently studying with NYC's top jazz musicians, under direct instruction of Pasquale Grasso, the top artist on Downbeat Magazine's 2024 Rising Jazz Guitarist polls. Among my other mentors includes Rodney Green, Grant Stewart, Chris Byars, and Ari Roland - all equally influential musicians themselves. Before moving to New York, I worked in Vancouver as a session musician and multi-instrumentalist teacher, where I discovered my love for teaching aspiring musicians. I found that the traditional way of teaching to be cold and alienating, but through my experiences teaching I've found that there is a way to challenge the student to learn in a fun and engaging way.

As part of my teaching methodology, I accept students of all levels and different genres, with a focus on music enjoyment and all people’s natural ability to play. I’m a working professional, can teach guitar, piano, bass, theory - I learned music from a strict teacher, and although I can still whip that out, I believe in focused, pin point goals for efficient learning, and an attitude of exploration and not discouragement. My goal is to bring the music in every student out of them in the most natural way they feel.
