ABOUT ME

Music isn't just my qualification; it’s my life’s work. Music makes my worlds go round. I'm classically trained to ABRSM Grade 5 in both Piano and Violin, but my career has truly been shaped by live performance and playing by ear.

I've spent years working as a professional gigging musician across two continents. My experience includes:

Solo Resident Pianist at the prestigious Southern Sun Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa.

Session Keyboardist in numerous live bands across various genres.

Performer for countless weddings and high-profile functions across both South Africa and Ireland.

I offer a highly personalised, straightforward approach to piano and keyboard tutoring, tailored completely to your own pace. No stress, no rigid lecturing—just simple, easy-to-understand coaching designed to get you playing quickly.

I offer two distinct paths depending on your goals:

The Classical Track: Perfect for beginners. We will use my ABRSM (Royal Schools of Music) training to build correct technique, note-reading skills, and fundamental music theory from the ground up.

The 'Play-by-Ear' Coaching Method: Learn my personal method for orchestrating any tune. I will teach you how to identify melodies, build accompanying chords, and introduce syncopated rhythms to give your playing a professional, dynamic edge.

Whether you want to learn online from the comfort of your home or prefer in-person sessions, we will make music accessible and fun.

Classes are typically 1 hour and are suited to all ages.

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:

I don’t believe in overcomplicating things. Music should be enjoyed, not feared. I break down complex musical concepts into bite-sized, practical steps. There is no set timeline and no pressure—you set the pace, and I provide the tools, shortcuts, and encouragement to help you hit your goals.

Because I also play guitar, bass, drums, and harmonica, I understand how the keyboard fits into a full band setting. This multi-instrumental background allows me to teach you how to "think like a whole band" when you orchestrate a solo piece or prepare to play with other musicians.
