About Willa
My journey in economics began with a curiosity about how societies allocate resources and how policies impact individuals and communities. I earned a B.A in Economics and Public Policy, which allowed me to study market dynamics, policy analysis, and statistical methods. Over 10 years of teaching, I have guided learners of diverse backgrounds to develop conceptual understanding, analytical skills, and confidence in exploring economic questions.
I believe teaching economics requires clarity, patience, and contextualisation. Lessons are tailored to each learner’s needs and incorporate examples from current events, historical trends, and policy debates. I emphasise critical thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis, encouraging students to form independent, evidence-based conclusions.
Beyond teaching, I engage with economic research, policy analysis, and applied projects that keep my knowledge current and relevant. Teaching economics is deeply rewarding because I witness learners develop confidence, analytical ability, and the capacity to understand and influence complex economic systems. Supporting their intellectual growth and curiosity remains the most fulfilling part of my work.

Economics lessons with me are designed to make abstract principles tangible, engaging, and directly applicable to real-world situations. I focus on teaching foundational concepts such as supply and demand, microeconomics, macroeconomics, and behavioural economics, providing learners with a deep understanding of market forces and economic decision-making. Lessons include interactive discussions, case studies, data interpretation exercises, and scenario analysis to encourage critical thinking and problem-solving. Students are supported in developing a structured approach to analysing economic trends, evaluating policies, and making informed conclusions.
Intermediate learners explore topics including international trade, public finance, game theory, and statistical modelling for economics. Lessons incorporate analytical exercises, real-world examples, and research-based projects to enhance conceptual clarity and practical application. I provide iterative feedback to strengthen reasoning, decision-making, and quantitative analysis skills, empowering learners to approach complex economic challenges with confidence and insight.
