About Myra
My interest in economics began with curiosity about why economies grow, how markets respond to change, and how policy decisions shape everyday life. I earned a B.A. in Economics and later completed an M.Sc. in International Economic Development, which gave me both theoretical understanding and global perspective. Over 9 years of teaching, I have supported students in building strong economic foundations through clarity and encouragement.
I believe economics should feel approachable and relevant. My teaching style focuses on breaking down complex models into understandable steps, using real-world case studies, graphs, and structured reasoning. I encourage students to ask questions freely and develop confidence through understanding rather than memorization.
Outside tutoring, I stay engaged with economics through continual reading, following global economic trends, and exploring policy discussions. Teaching economics is rewarding because students often transform from uncertainty into confident thinkers who can analyze real-world issues. Supporting learners in developing economic insight is deeply meaningful to me.

Economics becomes much more meaningful when students realize it is the study of how people, governments, and societies make decisions with limited resources. In my lessons, I guide learners through supply and demand, market structures, inflation, unemployment, trade, and macroeconomic policy with clear explanation and supportive discussion. I focus on helping students connect theory to real-world events so economics feels practical rather than abstract. Each session encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
Lessons are carefully tailored to the student’s level. Beginners explore foundational concepts such as scarcity, opportunity cost, and basic market behavior through simple examples. Intermediate learners strengthen skills in graph interpretation, elasticity, economic systems, and structured essay writing. Advanced students focus on deeper macroeconomic models, development economics, policy evaluation, and exam-level analysis with detailed feedback. Practice questions and reasoning support are included in every lesson.
Economics lessons also develop analytical skills that extend beyond academics. Many learners become more confident in understanding global news, business decisions, and societal challenges. My goal is to help students feel empowered through economic reasoning and thoughtful interpretation of the world.
