Of the 30-40 colleagues that I worked with at Tungwah Wenzel International School, Benjamin was by far the most trustworthy. His integrity is a very apparent part of his being and it cannot be ignored when interacting with him personally and professionally. He knows deeply what he believes, why he believes it, and he makes decisions with intention. His professional and personal integrity is without blemish.

Mr Ben Greuter was the head of the Language Department where I work in 2018-2020. As a teacher, he develops students’ literacy while encouraging them to explore multiple cultures in an inquiry-based approach. As a leader of the language department, he empowered the team with his proficiency, resources and the skills that he has practiced and gained, such as the weekly proficiency development meeting, the reading list and the skills of classroom management. As a trainer of language teacher, he deepened the language teachers’ the understanding of the theories, frameworks, approaches to teach listening, reading, speaking and writing of teach language to ESL learners in TEMC (Teaching in English in Multiple Classrooms). We appreciate his efforts in empowering the team.

I met Ben, back in 2018, in China. The Charachter of being such a human, kind and nice person, made us friends at first glance. Unlike many other guests, Ben showed up on time to his Valentines Reservation in my Restaurant and that shows how respectful and simple person he is. As a former international school colleague of Benjamin, I have been lucky enough to enhance my learning, open debates and discuss ideas from him over two years. The benefits of having someone as passionate about learning and teaching as Benjamin are tenfold.

Throughout our professional career, Benjamin has provided guided coaching and has always been a students' favourite.

Away from the professional backdrop, Benjamin is a devout family man with good morale values and a tendency to enjoy boardgames and conversation. Much can be learned outside of the standard curriculum materials.

Ben is someone who not only has more than patience for students, but for his coworkers as well. In addition, his ability to connect with the students was remarkable. He was not only able to teach the students, but have a great and positive impact on their lives from my experience. Ben is also a person with an extensive knowledge of traching and the language itself, which he demonstrated on countless occasions. His understanding and implementation of the learning process has been shown to work and produced great results in our school. Ben is missed by his peers and students alike still to this day!

As his coworker, I’ve been in many meetings with him and the parents of his students. He inspires loyalty in many of his students who claim to their parents that he is their favorite teacher. He clearly has impact on many young people.

He is a humorous teacher. Every student in our class likes him very much. He will play some games in class to keep us from getting bored. Of course, he also had a strict side, and his eyes were like eagle’s eyes when he supervised our quiz. In China, there is a saying that “一日为师 ，终身为父.” It means even if someone is your teacher for only a day, you should regard him like your father for the rest of your life. To me, Mr. Benjamin is more like a father, he taught me not only English skills but also how to be a responsible and motivated person.

Ben is a highly professional and trusted colleague of mine whom I was incredibly sorry to see leave us. He is a diligent teacher who always goes the extra mile for his students. He was responsible for revamping the middle school curriculum ready for external inspection and he did a superb job. I also have the pleasure of teaching some of his former students this year and they all have glowing things to say about Ben. I would also add that they are incredibly well prepared students who’ve clearly been taught well by someone familiar with the course aims and proper pedagogical technique. I cannot recommend Ben enough.
