About Jenna
- I have recently graduated with a master's with distinction in TESOL (Teaching of English to speakers of other languages) which is equivalent to TEFLQ status and has prepared me to teach students of all ages for a variety of different purposes.
- I am currently working as a part-time ESOL teacher teaching students aged between 14-16.
- I have experience teaching English to primary school children at all stages of development.
- I specialise in supporting EAL (English as an additional language) / newcomer children and young people through integrating language and curriculum content.
- I have previous experience providing training for adults and can adapt my lessons for specific purposes including exam preparation, academic writing and business English.

My personal teaching style is learner-centred, positive and fun!
I strongly believe that the use of authentic materials and having opportunities for collaboration and meaningful language use are vital components for successful development of all English language skills.
Usually, my lessons follow a PPP model structure, briefly summarised below:
1. Presentation: (introduction to new language, a real-life context, grammar and/or vocabulary)
2. Controlled practice: (use of a variety of engaging language practice activities linked to an authentic stimulus)
3. Free practice: (Depending on language need, the final activity will focus on accuracy/fluency and will be linked to a real-life situation)
Having gained an in-depth knowledge of English language teaching methodology through completing a master’s in TESOL, I can tailor my teaching method to suit each student's specific language needs which are always central in my lesson preparation!
