About Fabiana
I have been an English teacher for over 15 years. Being a very versatile professional, I have instructed a wide variety of students of various nationalities and ages. As a result, I am very sensitive to students' unique needs and I really care about them. I have a fun personality as well as effective teaching skills that motivate students to learning. My classes are planned according to the needs and objectives of each student (eg English for travel, business, job interviews, international exams, tutoring, etc). However, because I am a Cambridge certified teacher, the method I use to achieve these goals is the communicative approach. The communicative approach is based on the idea that language learning actually comes through communicating a real meaning. When students are engaged in real communication, their natural strategies for language acquisition will be used, and this will allow them to learn how to use language, they won't be just repeating phrases or structures. In the activities developed there will be more emphasis on skills than on systems, the lessons are more student-centered and there will be use of authentic materials (eg advertising, local radio audio, TV, music, work email, university form , etc)
