About Jon
I have a degree in English Studies from the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU) with a special mention in English Linguistics. In addition, I have completed a master's degree in Language Acquisition in Multilingual Contexts that has led me to the doctoral program. Currently, I am carrying out my PhD dissertation about the influence of Spanish and Basque on the acquisition of relative sentences in English as a third language. I investigate the intralinguistic and interlinguistic factors that intervene in the acquisition of this structure and the effect of contractive instruction on this process. As a PhD student, I am part of the Laslab research group ((concealed information) led by Dr. María Pilar García Mayo, which investigates issues related to language acquisition, the teaching of English as a foreign language, applied linguistics, bilingualism and multilingualism, and attitudes towards language. Regarding my work experience, I have taught English classes to students of different ages and levels in various academies in the Basque Country. I have also taught Spanish classes to native English speakers.

My teaching method is based on form-focused instruction always within a communicative context. I make use of different books and online resources, but I also create my own activities. I work on the four linguistic skills (reading, listening, writing and speaking) as well as grammar and vocabulary. The methodology of the class may vary depending on the type of class the student requires and their necessities: class support, intensive English courses, Cambridge official exams, spoken English....
