• ¿Hablas este idioma gracias a tu lugar de origen o porque algún otro profesor te metió ganas de aprender?

  This language has been easy for me since I was a child, and I remember that the best way I was able to learn it was by watching movies and reading in the English language. Since I was 13 years old to date I visit tourist places in Mexico City or its surroundings and meeting foreign tourists I have been able to start fluid conversations. I started teaching English 4 years ago to a group of friends. In 2019 I got a certification for a course and started giving individual and group classes and the number of students I have had has grown since then.
  
  
  Se me ha facilitado este idioma desde que era pequeño, y recuerdo que la mejor forma en que lo pude aprender fue viendo películas y leyendo en el idioma inglés. Desde que tenía 13 años hasta la fecha visito lugares turísticos en Ciudad de México o los alrededores y encontrando turistas extranjeros he podido entablar conversaciones fluidas. Empecé a enseñar inglés desde hace 4 años a un grupo de amigos. En 2019 obtuve una certificación por un curso y empecé a dar clases individual y en grupo y ha crecido el número de alumnos que he tenido desde entonces.

• Cuéntanos de algún personaje inspirador que sea un emblema o muy representativo de la lengua que enseñas

  There are many famous and iconic people who are linked to the English language. The country where this language is mainly spoken is the United States. Throughout history, historical characters have emerged in this country that you have surely heard.
  
  
  
  Hay muchas personas famosas e icónicas que están ligadas al idioma inglés. El país donde principalmente se habla esta lengua es Estados Unidos. A lo largo de la historia han surgido personajes históricos en este país que seguro has escuchado.

• ¿Hay alguna expresión o tradición que te llame mucho la atención de la lengua que enseñas?

  Many travelers do not miss the opportunity to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame with more than 2,400 stars, take photos with the famous sign, stroll down Sunset Boulevard or visit the Chinese Theater. These places are a fundamental part of American culture. In addition, around all these places events are held where the most famous actors and actresses attend, so you can meet them. Knowing how to speak English could help you not only ask your favorite actor for a photo, but also strike up a conversation.
  
  In addition, in Los Angeles there are the studios where very famous movies and television series were recorded, such as Jaws and Friends, as well as other movies that are famous today. And of course, another custom of American families is to get together to see the most important film awards, The Oscars. Learning English through movies is one of the ways I teach English, since many of the informal expressions used by Americans or British are not usually taught.
  
  
  Muchos viajeros no pierden la oportunidad de ver el Paseo de la Fama de Hollywood con más de 2.400 estrellas, tomarse fotos con la estrella, pasear por Sunset Boulevard o visitar el Teatro Chino. Estos lugares son parte fundamental de la cultura estadounidense. Además alrededor de todos estos lugares se realizan eventos donde asisten los actores y actrices más famosos, para que puedas conocerlos. Saber hablar inglés podría ayudarte no solo a pedirle una foto a tu actor favorito, sino también a entablar una conversación.
  
  Además, en Los Ángeles están los estudios donde se grabaron películas y series de televisión muy famosas, como Tiburón y Friends, ademas de otras películas que son famosas hoy en día. Y claro, otra costumbre de las familias estadounidenses es reunirse para ver los premios más importantes del cine, Los Oscars. Aprender ingles mediante las películas es una de las maneras en que enseño ingles, ya que, muchas de las expresiones informales que usan los americanos o británicos no suelen enseñarse.

• ¿Por qué sería importante hablar esta lengua, ya sea en un plano escolar, profesional o personal?

  In the world of work, it is usual that the best job opportunities require perfect English. Being a universal language, many national and foreign companies require that their employees be bilingual and that one of these languages they know is English.Mastering English opens doors of all kinds of opportunities. It does not matter the job, nor the university degrees or experience you have in your area of knowledge. For example, many companies today use platforms and other tools whose information is described in English.
  
  
  En el mundo laboral, es usual que las mejores oportunidades de trabajo se exige el perfecto dominio del inglés. Al ser un idioma universal muchas empresas nacionales y extranjeras, exigen que sus empleados sean bilingües y que uno de estos idiomas que conozcan sea el inglés.Dominar el inglés abre puertas a todo tipo de oportunidades. No importa el trabajo, ni los grados universitarios o experiencia que tengas en tu área de conocimiento. Por ejemplo, muchas empresas en la actualidad utilizan plataformas y otras herramientas cuya información está descrita en inglés.

• ¿Qué es lo más difícil de aprender esta lengua?

  Pronunciation is probably the most difficult part of English. Pronouncing a word in English is definitely more complex than the pronunciation of Spanish because English has twice as many sounds as Spanish, added to the fear that many people have when pronouncing it. Apart from the sound of words in English, sometimes it is not as they are written.
  
  
  Probablemente la pronunciación sea lo más difícil del inglés. Pronunciar una palabra en inglés es definitivamente más complejo que la pronunciación del español debido a que el inglés tiene el doble de sonidos que el español, eso sumado al miedo de muchas personas que tienen al pronunciar. Aparte el sonido de las palabras en inglés en ocasiones no es tal cual se escriben.

• ¿Alguna anécdota que nos quieras contar sobre tu aprendizaje de la misma?

  When I was learning to speak English much faster several years ago, I was a bit scared to speak English with an American because I wanted to do it at the same speed that she was speaking to me. But in the end I put aside my fear and I was able to carry out the conversation well.
  
  One advice that I can give to people who are working on improving their speaking fluency is just not to be afraid of making mistakes because the best way to improve is making mistakes and improve with practice.
  
  
  Cuando estaba aprendiendo a hablar inglés mucho más rápido hace varios años, me daba un poco de miedo hablar inglés con una estadounidense porque quería hacerlo a la misma velocidad que ella me hablaba a mí. Pero al final dejé a un lado mi miedo y pude llevar bien la conversación.
  
  Un consejo que puedo dar a las personas que están trabajando en mejorar su fluidez al hablar, es solo no tener miedo en equivocarse porque la mejor manera de mejorar es equivocándose y mejorando con la práctica.
