About Hilal
I am an enthusiastic English teacher with more than 15 years of experience in the field. I majored in English Literature at Istanbul University and graduated in 2003 with an additional English teaching certificate from the same university.
Upon graduation I started my freelance English teaching practice in Istanbul, Turkey, teaching mainly elementary and secondary school students.
In 2008, I decided to open my own English Language School in Yalova, Turkey. I taught General English to juniors and adults, Business English, TOEFL, KET lessons as per the students' requirements. I also taught Turkish to the Syrian refugees relocating in Yalova at the time as well as to the British and American native speaker English teachers the school employed.
In 2016 I sold my English Teaching school aiming to relocate to Cambridge with my family and I have resumed my freelance teaching career in Cambridge.
I’ve been working as a Freelance English Teacher since I moved to Cambridge in 2016.

Before I start a class, I ask the students to take a placement test to see their level of English and teach accordingly. I use Face2Face books by Cambridge University for General English classes. English is my second language and this gives me an advantage over native speakers as I have learned the language much the same way as my students do
