About Zachary
I have years of experience teaching both adults and children English as a Second Language. In 2014 I moved to China to experience their ancient and beautiful culture. While their I taught English as a Foreign Language in a training school and gained accreditation by TEFL and CELTA.
I then returned to Canada where I became a licensed Ontario teacher. I worked as a course developer for an online high school, using a variety of multimedia tools and working with the Ontario ESL curriculum to create lessons.
Since then, I have been working in Ontario schools in York Region and Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.

In my ESL classes I use context based activities. Each lesson will center on a specific scenario (i.e. going to a friend's birthday party, buying your first car or applying for schools in Canada). Focusing on the student's interests, I design lessons that will target the specific needs of each individual student.
I use positive reinforcement and a personal rapport with both students and parents to ensure engagement in the subject.
