About Maha

My name is Maha, a first year UK medical student originally from Syria. I am a dedicated tutor with 3 years of experience helping students develop fluency and skills in speaking, reading and writing Arabic. I am a native Arab and growing up and studying in Syria has given me the necessary knowledge to aid fulfil my students' objectives. I have had the privilege of teaching classes of students ranging from complete beginners to advanced learners across my local community.

Despite its difficulty, I believe learning Arabic should be structured, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable. Every lesson is tailored to your individual goals and pace, whether you're just starting out or refining high-level skills. You can expect clear explanations, patient guidance, and a professional, judgement-free space to make mistakes and grow.

About the lesson

I teach Arabic through a blend of grammar practice and real conversation and vocabulary building, using materials such as novels, poetry and film. Sessions typically run for one hour, and are tailored to each student's pace and goals. With 3 years of tutor experience and a lifetime of learning Arabic, I work with students of all levels, from teen students to adult learners, aiming to share knowledge of this rich, beautiful language with willing learners.

Rates may vary depending on level of the lesson and its preparation, e.g. an advanced learner's rate may differ to a child's lesson price due to increased time taken outside of lesson to mark work and formulate resources.
Reduced rates can also be discussed if two students are having the same/similar lessons together. E.g. £35/h for two students instead of £40/h
