About Jake
I have lived in Malaysia for over three years and so am familiar with the challenges that Malaysian and other students face when it comes to learning English.
My teaching experience includes working for institutions such as the British Council and at schools and universities in the UK, China and Sri Lanka. I have a BA, a master's degree and a CELTA in English language teaching

I specialize in teaching teenagers and adults. As well as general English I am skilled in IELTS preparation, academic English, writing skills, such as academic essay writing and public speaking and pronunciation.
A typical lesson would last around one hour and are tailored to the level and desired outcome of the student. I adopt a communicative approach to teaching that prioritizes real life interactions between the student and teacher to build up students' confidence and fluency.
