About Liza
I am a fully qualified and experienced English tutor with more than 10 years' experience teaching English to non-native speakers. Since I was a non-native speaker myself who had to learn the language from scratch, I have an edge in understanding the peculiar challenges that non-native speakers have to overcome, which native speakers may sometimes overlook. I have mastered all the grammar and language skills to prepare students to write their matric and obtain admission to universities. I can help you master the language too, do in-depth analyses of reading texts and help you to produce excellent writing.
I teach all levels and all ages. I can teach absolute beginners with no prior English exposure to advanced students. I understand the embarrassment that adults may occasionally experience and will assist you to build your skills and confidence. I will support you and believe in you as we approach your language journey.
I am also teaching children and understand that they need lessons that will help them to retain focus so that they will enjoy language learning. I also understand those shy ones who may still struggle to express themselves. I will look well after their needs.
I treat all my students as individuals and design tailor-made lessons for each student based on each student’s current abilities, goals and interests.
I have a BA Degree, majoring in English, and a Post Graduate Teacher’s Diploma. I know both British and American English and can teach either. I am an avid student myself and am currently also studying German, Italian, Spanish and French. I speak Afrikaans and understand a little of some of the African languages that are spoken in my country. This helps me understand different language challenges from different communities.
I am kind, patient and fun-loving. It is my desire to present lessons in such a way that they add value to my students’ lives and give me that inner reward of a task well-done.

I create individualised lessons containing the required content based on each student's needs. The lessons are presented live online whilst I interact with the student. I make use of PowerPoint presentations to explain content. Notes are supplied to the students. I am to use themes that are in line with my students' intersts.

Details
Should two students who are on the same level attend the same class, they pay R200 each, three students pay R150 each and four or more students pay R100 each.
I offer a discounted Kiddies class of 30 minutes for children up to age 10. The fee is R130 for a single student, R95 each for more than one student up to a maximum of 4 students.
Classes should be cancelled 24 hours before the classstarts or the fee will be forfeited.
