About Leila-Clare
I am from Liverpool studying for a PhD at Liverpool University. I am ESOL trained and previously lived in China for 3 years where I taught English at all levels to hundreds of students. I helped my students prepare for and achieve great results in IELTS at all levels, Trinity College exams and University preparation. Furthermore, I have helped many of my students prepare for public speaking. I also speak fluent Spanish and have lived in Latin America teaching English to children.
Currently, I teach seminars at Liverpool University to first year students in International Politics.
I can speak Mandarin , French and Spanish to varying levels.

My English language classes are full of energy ,fun and are aimed at improving conversational English. All my classes are tailored precisely around each student and their individual needs.I offer a free consultation before to review what needs to be improved and what classes would work best for you. I also incorporate pronunciation,culture and drama into my classes.
Furthermore, I provide intense classes to improve reading and writing skills aswell as experience in preparing for specified exams (IELTS). Finally, I have also taught business English for two years.

An enthusiastic, encouraging, supportive tutor with a degree in History (2.1), Masters in International Relations (Distinction) and currently studying a PhD at Liverpool University.
I have 4 years experience and more than 1000 hours' one-to-one tutoring experience, making me qualified and equipped to provide the best classes for your needs. I am qualified as an English language teacher (Cert TESOL).
I specialise in helping students with conversational English and preparing for IELTS , Trinity exams or pre-sessional English. However, whatever stage a student is at I can offer a bespoke course to cover all their language needs. Additionally, I also proofread and teach essay-writing skills.
My goal is to help my students achieve their aims and to build genuine confidence in their English allowing them to move forward with their own personal goals.

- Where do you teach?
I'm centrally located in Liverpool, 10 minutes from Liverpool University campus which is easy to reach via bus/train. (St Michael's station)
I offer classes at my home and will provide tea and coffee. Every two months I provide a social dinner party for my students to interact and converse together over delicious food.
I can also travel to student's homes or nearby spaces and charge £3 for travel costs.

Most days besides Tuesday and Friday afternoons.

AS A TUTOR
Freelance tutoring since 2013. Extensive experience over 4 years, including teaching in China, Latin America and Spain. As well as English , I have also tutored numerous students in English language, Creative Writing, performance and Drama.

China Southern Airlines: China- I was the English language examiner for recruitment for China Southern Airlines
Examiner- I was an English examiner for secondary school children for two terms.
Summer school- I ran one summer school in China covering English language and public speaking for 10 year olds.
I taught on two further summer schools covering English, reading, performance and creative writing for children under 15.

Perfect teacher! She is patient, hard working but most importantly she is experienced in teaching at all levels. I really struggled with pronunciation and grammar but Leila explained all aspects in detail and was extremely patient and approachable. I always felt confident to share my concerns and she targeted the areas I struggled in most. Best teacher I have ever had. Would definitely recommend!!!!!!
Leila is a great teacher full of enthusiasm nd is dedicated to helping all her students. She helped me when I first came to the UK with my English and I improved quickly.
