About Madison

I am a current music education student at Duqesne University. I attended pittsburgh CAPA which is a performing arts school located in downtown pittsburgh. I have much experience which preparing for auditions as well as knowledge about different opportunities for young students in Pittsburg! I think that performing should not only be a dedicated practice but fun!

I am a current junior at Duquesne University study for my bachelor's degree in Music Education.

I have all of the required clearances

I attended Pittsburghs Creative and Performing arts school

A member of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra

I have studies with many different local flute instructors including members of the PSO

About the lesson

For true beginning students (those who have never taken a lesson before) we will start with some fun excercises with only the head joint, making rain noises and trying to play simple songs. Although this sounds like an easy task, preparing the embouchure takes time and is very important for future development! After that the body of the flute will be used and fingerings will be slowly added with fun songs the students will recognize. For non-beginers I will have them play something for me that they enjoy or have most recently learned so I can get of sense of their playing ability and level as well as what types of music they like to play so we can incorporate this into future lessons. From their we will talk about topics such as breathing and posture as well as many other important musical ideas not directly related to the flute.

For a 30 minute lesson the price is $16.00 (highly recommend for younger and begining students)

For a 45 minute lesson the price is $20.00
