About Daniel

I understand what it is like to learn Spanish as a non-native speaker, so I can help others who find themselves in the same boat. I fell in love with learning the language and hope to help others succeed in learning Spanish as well. I have a BA in Latin American and Iberian Studies (Spanish), and I have studied and worked abroad in Spain and Ecuador. I scored a 5 on the AP Spanish exam in high school (highest grade possible), and I have tutored other students throughout high school and college. I can help you succeed in this subject as well.

I really enjoy being so knowledgeable on the topic and having the opportunity to transfer that knowledge to students. It brings me so much joy to make a positive impact on a student's journey of learning. When students begin to develop their Spanish ability, it really opens up so many doors in different aspects of their life. I love playing a role in enabling that for them.

I started tutoring students in high school when I realized I had a high aptitude for learning Spanish. I became proficient very quickly and loved it. I also realized how much I really enjoy helping others learn.

Bachelor of Arts in Latin American & Iberian Studies (Spanish) from the University of Richmond

Study abroad semester at Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain

Study abroad summer at University of Virginia's campus in Valencia, Spain

Worked in Guayaquil, Ecuador in the accounting department of Concreto y Prefabricados for a few months

I would pick a teacher that learned Spanish as a second language. English is my first language, and I am a much better Spanish teacher than English teacher because I learned Spanish initially in an academic setting, the same setting faced by students seeking a teacher.
