About Samantha

Samantha is a 225-hour registered Holy Yoga Instructor from Cleveland, OH. She began practicing yoga in 2010, and she completed her teacher training in June of 2018. Samantha is passionate about yoga because it connects our spiritual, emotional, and physical growth together, creating a wholistic approach to self-improvement and maturation. But also, it’s fun!

Outside of yoga, she enjoys time with her husband, three children, and two cats. Samantha is an avid coffee drinker, and binges on true crime stories. She loves to read, put together all kinds of crafts, and volunteer at her church as a small group leader. She’s here to talk about all things from motherhood to Jesus, from yoga to the best place to get a cup of coffee; and she hopes to help her students find freedom, joy, and peace through their yoga practice.

I really love being able to share one of my favorite things - yoga - with other people. It blesses me and fills my heart with so much joy to flow with others and help them discover the benefits and fun in yoga for themselves!

I was passionate about practicing yoga, and as a Christian, I was obviously drawn to Holy Yoga’s teachings. I’ve wanted, generally, to be a teacher since I was little, so it was just an easy choice. Once the door opened for me to go trough training, I jumped through it, and got started!

I am a 225-hour registered Holy Yoga Instructor, trained to teach both traditional and fath-based styles of yoga.

About the lesson

We work though a flow to gauge where you are and what you’re comfortable with and talk about your goals. From there, we begin to practice flows, adding new things to expand you and challenge you in new ways each time in a fun environment that still focuses on alignment and safety in poses. As you grow more and more comfortable, we can begin to play with more challenging asanas and creative, out-of-the-box sequencing!

Most of my students are beginners, and it’s my delight to work with them! But all of my classes are sequenced in such a way that all-levels can get something from them!

Find someone who’s spiritual beliefs most closely line up with yours, if you’re looking for Christian Teachers. If you’re looking for anything else, find a teacher who speaks to what you’re looking to get out of your practice.

My favorite event was a Holy Glowga class. I brought in 200 glow sticks and a big bowl of Halloween candy, and had put together a goofy playlist and a playful flow. We shut off all the lights and were flowing in the dark and just had a blast! We laughed and sang and ate a bunch of sweets afterwards. Most recently, I hosted a special Valentine’s Day Holy Yoga class that centered on meditating on scriptures that speak of Gods love, and practicing asanas that open the heart. Of all of the classes I’ve taught so far, I feel like that one was my best reviewed by my students. It was wonderful to shower them with words of Gods affection for them!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
If you’re looking for yoga as therapy for a physical injury, or as a way to process emotional trauma, definitely ensure that the teacher has received training in those areas. I would suggest the same for prenatal yoga. Outside of that, I would ask a teacher what their expectations of their students are and to ask them what they hope to convey to their students, to make sure that aligns with what you are looking to do and receive.
