About Marilyn

Hello everyone, so glad you found me. I have been practicing yoga for about 18 years. I have about 1000 hours of one on one teaching. I work with students to help them reach their fullest potential in a safe and healthy way. I use yoga to teach you how to heal yourself. I teach you how to use your breath to expand your body and mind and find calmness in your body and mind. It’s called equanimity, connecting, joining, yoking which is actually what yoga means.

I have a 200 hour certification and about 300 hours of additional contact and non contact training. I enjoy the connection I make with my students and the ability to impact their minds and bodies so that they feel whole and healhty. I love seeing the smiles on people faces when they come to class and after class. I love making a difference in peoples lives helping them enrich their lives, minds and bodies.

I practiced yoga for 15 years and fell in love with it and wanted to take the practice further, never thinking that I would actually become a teacher; however as I was nearing the end of my traning, I was approached by another yoga teacher who asked me to share teaching a class with her, and I said yes. Low and behold I had no idea that I would have to audition and perfect a Yin class for the audition. I reread my books two times and practiced daily for a week and got the job. I fell in love with teaching and with the beautiful connection you make with your students and their lives, I love nuturing and helping people reach their fullest potentials in a safe and healthy way.

I have a 200 hour RYT Certificaion and about 300 hours of contact and non contact hours of additional training and approximately 900 hours of teaching. I participate in national and local training. This year I will be teaching at YogaFest Raleigh at McCrimmon Center at NC State on April 7, 2018. I'll be teaching a Yummy Yin class there. Come and join us for a day of Yoga, bring friends and try out many classes. I also attended Wunderlust this year in Squaw Valley California, where I particiapted in classes with Sean Corne, Rod Stryker and other nationally acclaimed yoga teachers.

About the lesson

We first chat on the phone and I find out exactly what your are looking for, how much yoga practice you've had, or if you are new to yoga or mediation. I'll ask also ask you about any specific injuries you may have or also what areas you would like to work on in particular. It is very personalized. Then we schedule a time to meet and have the one on one session or maybe you meet with a friend. We'll work out a schedule that works with your life style.

I work with all levels and ages of students, some of my students are in the their 20"s and some are in their 70's. I teach students on average in their 30"s to 70"s. Although I have had several student's in their 80(s). I've taught several children's workshops and recently taught a Mommy and Me Workshop at 12 Oaks in Holly Springs. I love working with Golfers and have taught workshops for Golfers. Yoga is for everyone, every age, every fitness level.

I would recommend speaking to other people who have had classes with this teacher. I would also recommend looking at experience and trainging this teacher has and sampling a class to see how you like working with the teacher.

Finally think about the investment you are making in yourself by giving back to yourself. Loving and nourshing, and just allowing yourself to be present for an hour or hour and half is a great gift to give yourself.

I just finished a 2 hour Restorative Yin Workshop this past Sunday January 21, 2018 in Holly Springs, that I loved, it was two hours of beautiful and luxurious Yin poses, supplemented by inspirational music and inspirational readings. Aw.... It was a wonderful experience to have had the opportunity to offer it.

More recently, I just returned from a beautiful trip to Montreal where I had the privledge to practice yoga with Yoga Insturctors from every corner of the world from Bali to Montreal to California.

Details

Yes, privates lessons are generally $75.00 an hour and if you schedule the lessons with a friend we share the hourly fee. I also offer monthly passes for $250 for 4 one hour sessions. I also offer 8 week series throughout the year and we meet as a group. Series are $150.

I also teach a group class at Yoga Gardens in Apex on Friday mornings at 11. It's a small private studio in historic downtown Apex. The drop in fee is $15 per class and class passes bring the price down to $10.50 to $13 per class.

In addition, I teach at the Town of Cary at Bond Park on Thursday and evenings at 5:15 and 6:30. Classes are $12 for a drop in or sign up for a session at a discounted price. To sign up you simply go to Town of Cary webiste and register there or come to class (at Bond Park) and pay for a Wellness Pass (a drop in rate) or $12. New students are always welcome, all levels are welcome. It's a friendly group of lovely yogis that meet at Bond Park.
