About Elianah

Welcome to Pen & Pulse Movement Literacy. I support children and adults through literacy intervention, second-language acquisition, academic tutoring in the Humanities, and Physical Arts. I provide a holistic approach to teaching by establishing a positive, inclusive, and fun environment that enhances the learning experience. I hold a BA in International Studies and Dance and an interdisciplinary MA in Caribbean Cultural Studies. I have over five years of teaching experience which includes ESL/ESOL for adults and teens, literature, American History, poetry, grammar, phonics, vocabulary, as well as reading intervention for children/youth with special needs. In addition, I've been teaching dance and fitness for over ten years. If I have the privilege of working with you, I will create a personalized curriculum that fits your needs and goals.

My father was a public school teacher and my mother was a the owner of her own dance school! They are my biggest inspirations.

I have a BA in International Studies and a MA in Caribbean Cultural Studies. I also hold an English K-12 teaching certificate in English in the state of Arizona.

About the lesson

I do a basic skills assessment to determine their level. With these results I come up with a plan specific for them with a timeline of goals. Lessons are usually no more than 45 minutes long.

Details

$50 for 45 minutes or $60 for a full hour. My full hour sessions have a five minute break in the middle. If I'm working with a student who has special needs, the breaks are what the parent and child feel most comfortable with.
