About Theo
I have nine years of experience teaching Yoga and lived in Yoga studios and Ashrans all around the world: South America, Canada, Europe and USA. My life have been fully dedicated to Yoga during this period. I have a teacher certification with 600 hours training in theory and practice by the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers Organization (TTC, ATTC and Sadhana Intensive). The Hatha Yoga classes can be from 1 to 1:30 hours long at the student's house or working place (if possible). I was trained in the Sivananda Yoga tradition, therefore the classes include: breathing exercices, sun salutations for warming the body up and 12 to 14 postures (asanas). The asanas may change or include variations following the develpment of the student. I can also teach Vedanta philosophy and meditation if the student is interested.
Although Yoga seems like a physical exercise, it is actually a very powerful tool for controlling the mind and emotions. The life change that I see in my students is the best reward I can have.
I have two teachers certification from the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers: 2010 TTC (Teachers Training Course) and 2012 ATTC (Advanced Teachers Training Course) and the 2014 Sadhana Intensive.
I was the director of the Porto Alegre - Brazil Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center from 2011 to 2015 and of the Sao Paulo Sivananda Yoga Center from 2016 to 2017. I have been a teacher of Hatha Yoga and Vedanta Philosophy in the Sivananda TTC which happens in Garopaba/Brazil since 2012. I am now a resident of the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in New York City.

If the student is a beginner I advise 1-hour classes that are very basic. At this moment I am more concerned in the class becoming pleasant for the student and being sure that he is doing everything correctly. With Intermediary students, the focus is learning postures variations (asanas) building up strength and balance. Advanced students should have a 1:30 classes with a long standing in each asana. The breathing exercises also vary according to the student's level. Depending on the lifestyle of the student I can teach some advanced pranayamas which can give an enormous amount of energy.

When doing yoga if you want to relax and meditate while doing it it takes an instructor with a specific personality and Tandava has that. He has devoted many years to Yoga and his classes show that. I highly recommend!
