About Christina

Hi,

My name is Christina Wong and am the owner of Lotus Flower Yoga. I was an occupational therapist for over 10 years and always had a passion working with those who were fighting to regain their functional independence. I have always had a strong passion for yoga and began practicing when I was in high school. I decided to pursue a longtime interest and passion and became a certified yoga teacher in New Jersey. I feel learning is a lifetime process and continue my own daily yoga practice and keep to that commitment to myself.

I provide one on one private yoga instruction for my clients based on their specific needs and goals. With a strong background in anatomy, physiology and kinesiology I have an in-depth understanding of proper alignment, pose modification and injury prevention. As a long time practitioner of Buddhism, I love to incorporate spiritual cleaning and chakra healing as well for those students who wish to delve deeper into their spiritual side.

I greatly enjoy helping students develop their own yoga practice and love to see the process as students progress and develop on a mental, spiritual and physical level. Yoga is all about each students individual journey.

I am a yoga teacher RYT 500 with over 500 hours of training as well as over 100 additional hours of training relating to injuries, anatomy and physiology, chakra healing, and pranayama (breathing).

About the lesson

I like to speak over the phone prior to our first class so my client and I can get to know each other and I can answer any questions or concerns the client may have. I also ask the client to fill out a waiver of liability form and a brief client health form so I am aware of any health concerns the client may have and am able to develop a client centered approach to their yoga sessions. I also like to discuss my client goals both long term and short term to be able to customize their classes specifically for their needs. I want my client to be happy and feel fulfilled with their yoga classes.

I think it's important for students to know what their general purpose is from taking yoga classes in general as well as if they have any specific goals.

Right now with the COVID-19 quarantine and CDC quidelines I am offering classes in students backyards or in home, I wear a mask. Each class is $80/class. Discounts available for 2+ students. Message me for rates.
