About Kerri

I specialize in accessiblity of poses along with foundational tools that are useful for all levels. I recieved my 200 RYT from St. Pete Yoga in 2018, and have been practicing since early 2014.

I can help yogis of all levels find the most beneficial activities for their practices. Want to build strength? Want a deep stretch? Maybe explore breathing techniques and journaling? As a certified instructor I can give you the tools that you need to better your practice, life, and self.

I began practicing yoga because I was in physical pain, but it quickly became clear that I needed to continue practicing because of the mental benefits. I attended Iyengar based classes for 15 months, this style of practice helped me hone in skills such as alignment and use of props (blocks, bolsters, blankets, etc..). I then practiced Vinyasa flows for 3 years which helped me understand the movement of the body. After exploring these two styles I decided to expand my knowledge through acquiring my 200 RYT. Through my RYT training I learned more about the physical body, as well as mental benefits, but I also learned about alternative activities that enhance your yoga practice (for example, journaling and breath work).

I love working with people. It's a gift to be able to help people improve their lives, whether physically or mentally. Yoga helps me in so many ways, I would love it if everyone could share in the experience with me.

About the lesson

I begin working with new students by first asking them what their goals are. This way we can discuss the right style we will be gearing the practice towards.

But before we begin practicing, it's important for me to know a little bit about who I'm working with. I like to ask basic questions about daily habits to understand the physical and mental aspects we will be working with. Based on that information I am able to devise a more individual and holistic practice.
