• When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  I started as a classroom teacher in Colombia, teaching English, Science, and Mathematics. Many of my colleagues needed to take the IELTS exam to certify their English level, so I took it upon myself to study the test and help them prepare. I knew a higher score could mean cash bonuses for them, so I wanted to make a difference.
  
  Soon, I found myself helping other professionals with highly specific needs-doctors preparing for international conferences, PhD candidates improving their academic writing, and business professionals refining their presentation skills. Seeing that traditional language schools didn't meet these needs, I decided to open my own language school to provide personalized support.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  I've always loved reading and writing. Language is the foundation of how we communicate and connect.
  
  I used to believe that learning another language was impossible for me, partly because of uninspiring language teachers in my past. But when I learned Spanish, I realized that real communication-not just memorizing rules-leads to learning. This experience shaped my approach to teaching. My passion comes from my love of language and my ability to help students succeed.

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  Helping students improve their English skills allows them to achieve life-changing goals. When my students succeed, I feel like I succeed too.
  
  It's incredibly rewarding to hear that a student got into their dream postgraduate program, secured a job, gained permanent residency in Canada, or simply feels more confident speaking English. I'm passionate about teaching and fully committed to helping my students reach their goals.

• Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

  I've had many incredible teachers over the years. The best ones have a deep understanding of their subject, welcome questions, adapt their lessons to students' needs, and treat learners as equals on the journey to mastery. That's the kind of teacher I strive to be.

• What are your keys to success?

  Expertise. I ensure I fully understand what I teach. I'm an expert in international exams like IELTS, TOEFL, A2 Key, B1 Preliminary, B2 First, and CELPIP. I've worked with dozens of business professionals, helping them advance in their careers. I also love taking on unique challenges, whether it's helping an urban planner prepare for an interview or a doctor pass an oral exam.
  Flexibility. I plan my lessons carefully, but I'm always ready to adapt. Students may have unexpected questions or need clarification in areas I hadn't anticipated. Years of experience have taught me to adjust quickly to their needs.
  Passion. Teaching is more than a job for me-it's a partnership in learning. I bring energy and enthusiasm to every lesson because I truly care about my students' success.
