About Vince

I’m Vince, a guitarist with around 17 years of playing experience and a strong passion for helping people enjoy the instrument.

I mainly play rock, blues, and improvisational styles, but I’ve explored a range of genres over the years, including jazz, metal, funk, and neo-soul. My own playing has always been driven by curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning songs, riffs, solos, and ideas from different players.

As a teacher, I’m patient, encouraging, and practical. I understand that learning guitar can feel frustrating at times, especially at the beginning, so I focus on helping students build confidence step by step. I aim to make lessons relaxed, enjoyable, and focused on real progress.

Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or you’ve been playing for a while and want to improve, I’ll help you work towards your goals in a way that feels clear, motivating, and suited to your taste in music.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Vince. I teach friendly, practical guitar lessons for beginners and improving players who want to build confidence, learn new skills, and start playing music they actually enjoy.

My approach is centred around helping you make real progress while keeping lessons fun and motivating. Rather than only working through dry exercises, I like to use songs, riffs, chord progressions, and styles that interest you, then use those as a way to build your technique, rhythm, musical understanding, and confidence.

Lessons can cover things like basic chords, strumming, rhythm, lead guitar, improvisation, scales, blues and rock playing, learning songs by ear, playing with other musicians, and developing your own style. I’m especially comfortable with rock, blues, bluesy improvisation, and related styles, but I’m happy to tailor lessons around the music you want to play.

A typical lesson is 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your level, goals, and preference. For complete beginners, we can start from day zero: how to hold the guitar, tune it, play your first chords, and build up to simple songs. For players with some experience, we can focus on improving technique, learning more challenging songs, understanding the fretboard, developing confidence, or getting into improvisation.

I’ve been playing guitar for around 17 years and have experience across rock, blues, improvisation, and other styles including touches of jazz, metal, and neo-soul. I’m still passionate about improving my own playing, so I understand both the excitement and frustration that comes with learning an instrument.

My lessons are best suited to beginners, casual players, and early intermediate guitarists who want a relaxed, encouraging teacher and a clear path to getting better.
