About Gozde
Hi! This is Gozde. If you have interest in learning Turkish, I will be more than happy to help. I was born and have lived in Turkey for almost 30 years. Turkish is my native language. Currently I am living in Chicago, US.
If we work together, I will start by preparing a plan in the light of what you need to or want to learn. So, we can have efficient tutoring time. Later, we can do adjustments according to your needs. Below is my professional background related to teaching:
I have 9 years of teaching assistantship experience both in Turkey and in the US.
- Right after graduating from Mech. Eng. in Middle East Tech University in Turkey, I worked for 3 years as a TA at the same department. My duties were teaching course materials with in-class tutorials, preparing and grading homework and quizzes, holding office hours to guide students with their questions, attending to weekly meetings with the Prof.s to give and get general feedback about the courses. The courses I assisted were undergraduate ME courses.
- Then, I was offered to work as an instructor with more responsibility in the same department. For 4 years, I taught freshman engineering students from other eng. departments such as electrical, aerospace, civil eng. both the theory and application of CAD using 3D design software. My other duties were to prepare and grade exams and teach in-class.
- Finally, for 2 years, I served as a TA at the University of Illinois at Chicago, for undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Design course.

First, we can work on creating a learning plan together by discussing your needs. You might be starting from the scratch learning Turkish or improving it as your second language. I am both comfortable in tutoring with young or adult learners.
