About Tanya

I'm a fully qualified and experienced psychology teacher, specialising in AQA A-Level and GCSE Psychology. My love of psychology has continued to grow through teaching it for 4 years and I feel confident in my knowledge to help my students achieve the grade they desire. I have a strong track record of helping students improve their grades through engaging, structured, and exam-focused lessons. My approach is supportive and tailored to each student’s needs, combining clear explanations with effective revision and exam techniques. Whether you're aiming for top grades or need help building confidence, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching psychology is student-centred, exam-focused, and rooted in cognitive science principles such as retrieval practice, dual coding, and spaced learning. I aim to build both subject knowledge and exam technique through clear explanations, active recall, regular low-stakes testing, and lots of practice with real AQA-style questions. Lessons are interactive, adaptive to the student’s pace, and structured to develop independent thinking and confidence in applying psychological concepts.
The lesson may include -
Recap & Retrieval Practice: Brief quiz or discussion to revisit previous content and activate prior knowledge.
Concept Introduction/Review: Clear explanation of the key topic for the session, using examples and visual aids
Independent Practice: Student works on exam-style questions or tasks independently with targeted feedback.
Review & Next Steps: Go over key takeaways, address misconceptions, and set revision or follow-up tasks.

Tanya is a hard-worker who is willing to take new challenges every day to impart instructions and
create an excellent class room environment.
What I found to be Tanya’s best asset is her ability to utilise appropriate language and positive
attitude to interact effectively with students, coworkers and staff. As a model of good behavior, she is in a league of her own and can provide extra instructional support based on individual student
assessments. Every aspect of her teaching is innovative to say the least: instruction, assessment,
interaction, communication, documentation, administration and classroom management are just
some of her areas of expertise as far as teaching is concerned.
I am confident that she would contribute effectively to this site.
