About Ellen
My degrees are from Stanford University, University of Maryland (Literacy Coach certificate), University of St. Thomas, Houston, (Masters of Education /bilingual/ESL). My teaching certifications have been earned in five states, and include ESL, Reading, Principalship, and Art. In addition, I have earned my Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner certification. I have taught all age groups for over 25 years and still love teaching.

After meeting with you, to discuss your goals for success, we will take a formal assessment to pinpoint areas of need. Our final goal is comprehending written material and building your ability to show what you know. We will begin by strengthening the foundation of knowledge and skills you already demonstrate and go from there.
I like to incorporate all modalities of comprehension and expression: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. I have enjoyed success in bringing students forward in all settings and age groups, from beginning literacy in Kindergarten, elementary years, middle school challenges, high school, university levels, and adults in careers. My motivation is your success and feeling of accomplishment.
