About Dominique

Dominique is a powerhouse. A divine vibrant being. She is a
storyteller; revisiting and reimagining all aspects of herself,
and allowing her experiences to shape her reality. Diving into
realms of love and collaboration, she is exploring empathetic
and compassionate ways of listening and learning from her
ancestors, family, and friends on how to cultivate and sustain a
thriving community. As a teacher, she invites her students in
the process of self reflection. Co-creating a space where her
students feel called to swim in the pools of their inner truth
and create/perform movement from the space of authenticity.
Dominique has had the pleasure of training with Deeply rooted
dance theater, Hubbard street, Homer hans Bryant, LINES Ballet
BFA program, Guy Shoromi,and Sidra Bell. She has had the
opportunity of choreographing and performing internationally in
Portugal and Vancouever and domestically throughout the bay
area. Dominique is currently an arts education teaching artist
in the SF and Oakland area. She is excited to be returning back
to her origins as a professional dancer ;diving into the ritual
form that is movement medicine.

About the lesson

In my lessons we will focus on understandingthe main principles of technique, strength and flexibility, and how groove/self expression encourages us to step out of your brain and into our body. A typical lesson with me will always start with a guided warm up, that will encourage endurance and cardio and stretching which will inspire you to flow with ease. we then will do center/across the floor exercise to practice all of the movements we did in our warm up. Then we move into choreography, which is my favorite. in choreography we get to practice the performance aspect of dancing, connecting to how our face helps us express our deeper feelings and how looking out invites us to connect to our audience in a deeper level. finally we will end class with a moment of gratitude and stretching. giving thanks to ourselves, students, and our bodies for supporting us throughout the lesson.

For my pricing my dance lessons are never free. I always offer a free 30 minute phone or video call consultation to go over the plans and goals for our upcoming lessons. Any actual dance lessons will be at the rate. It is a sliding scale of $125-$175/hr
