About Brendan

I am a professional piano player with over 15 years experience learning, and teaching. I learned from the world recognized Mrs. Charlotte Crane who traveled the world teaching students in almost every continent and was a recognized member of the music department at University of Maryland. I learned from her for over 10 years and I worked hard to gather up everything she knew. From creating a patent style of playing, to chord charts, classical, jazz, blues, pop, runs, changing the music and improvising, but most important I learned to never stop if you make a mistake just keep going!

About the lesson

What I would do with a student for Piano, is I would want to get to know their experience level and how much prior knowledge they may have first. Then we dive right into the basics, note names and letters, values of time and beats, learning to read the music, and where to put your hands! We will work most lessons starting over what we learned the previous lesson, going on to a new topic or term of music and piano playing, and learning either new concepts like notes or values or a new song! I have worked with over 10 students previously and they came in all ages and experience levels so come one and all!
