About Hager

Hi! I’m Hager, a native Arabic speaker from Egypt. I really enjoy helping people discover Arabic, especially Egyptian Arabic, because learning a language is not only about grammar and vocabulary. It’s also about being able to understand people, join conversations, and feel comfortable using the language in real life.

Whether you’re starting from zero or you already have some Arabic, I’ll be happy to help you build your Arabic step by step.

Modern Standard Arabic or Egyptian Arabic?

Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is the formal variety of Arabic used in books, news, education, and official communication. It is understood throughout the Arab world.

Egyptian Arabic is the everyday spoken variety used in Egypt. Linguistically, it is mainly based on Arabic, while also preserving some vocabulary and linguistic features influenced by Coptic and earlier Egyptian languages.
Egyptian Arabic is widely understood across the Arab world, partly because of the popularity of Egyptian films, TV, music, and media.

So, if your goal is everyday communication with Egyptians, Egyptian Arabic is the natural choice. If you need Arabic for formal, academic, or written contexts, MSA may be more suitable.
You can also learn both and use each one depending on the situation.

I don’t follow exactly the same lesson plan with every student.
In our first lesson, I like to understand what you want to achieve and what you already know. From there, we can build lessons around your goals.

Depending on your level and needs, we may work on:
• Standard Arabic
• Egyptian Arabic for everyday conversations
• Speaking and listening
• Pronunciation and accent
• Useful vocabulary and expressions
• Arabic reading and writing
• Grammar explained in a simple way
• Role-plays and real-life situations
• Egyptian culture and everyday life

For beginners, don’t worry if you know absolutely nothing yet. We can start from the very beginning and build things up step by step.

For more advanced learners, we can focus more on conversation, natural expressions, pronunciation, and making your Arabic sound more natural.

My goal is not for you to memorize Arabic. I want you to feel comfortable actually using it.

If that sounds like the kind of Arabic lessons you’re looking for, feel free to send me a message and tell me a little about your goals.
