In addition to assisting students to acquire language skills that include reading, writing, listening, and speaking, my lessons prepare the students to not only learn the language but to apply the language to their everyday lives. They will learn to communicate with others in more than one language through conversation practice, exchanging ideas, and expressing emotion. They will connect the language they learn to other subjects while acquiring information and skills. They may discover patterns as they learn the language and possibly even culture. Students may discover patterns, similarities, and differences within the language they are learning and their own as well as their cultures. They will gain the ability to use the language with the communities they may be in as well as communities around the world.
