I wanted to learn Serbian to grow closer to my heritage, and Marija has been an excellent help. She is personable, patient, and a meticulous teacher. Her lessons are well-structured and thoughtfully tailored to my goals. She creates a supportive environment that makes learning enjoyable and effective. Maria is a wonderful language tutor and I am so grateful to have found her on superprof. About 2 years ago my husband and I decided it would be fun to learn Serbian and eventually Greek to stay connected with our respective heritages. I searched high and low for the right fit, after the first online meeting with Maria we knew this would be a great match.

She is friendly and fun and very dedicated to our lessons - always taking pictures and remembering stories about her life in Belgrade and Serbia to recall to us in our lessons. This helps us learn the language by making it more personal and giving us knowledge that will actually help us in the real world.

Maria' s teaching style is versatile and she adapts to our learning style and speeds. She incorporates text book work, games, songs and general conversation into our learning and we look forward to every lesson. After 2.5 years, Maria believes my husband and I are at a B2 language level in Serbian and we feel that we are now able to understand and hold basic conversation. In the next few months we should be able to hold small conversations with minimal intervention.

I would recommend Maria as a language tutor to absolutely anyone of any age. She has a kind and caring nature, combined with fun stories and experience. Maria is a wonderful teacher and I'm very glad we found her.

Maria is an excellent, dedicated and well-organised teacher. As a beginner in the language, I feel her classes are well suited to my level of learning and ability. The lessons themselves are always enjoyable, and Maria has a great way of incorporating pieces of music, culture and history into the lesson - so it feels like not only are you learning the language, you are getting a better sense of the culture too - which is so important! I continue to feel appropriately challenged by her classes, but never overwhelmed, and I always look forward to them (and even doing my homework!) which is indicative of her great teaching ability.

Maria taught both my children Serbian for several years in person and continued online once we no longer lived in the same city. She has a wonderful way of catering the lessons to the individual child’s needs and interests and has always made lessons fun and interactive. One thing I loved the most is how she not only taught my kids the Serbian language but also a lot about understanding the Serbian culture and history and how it is all connected.
