About Harvey

I’m a classically trained Trumpet player of 16 years who is passionate about sharing music through performance and education! I have extensive experience in professional environments having played with the Australian Youth Orchestra on multiple occasions and organizations such as Opera Victoria and Geelong Symphony Orchestra as principal trumpet. I’m a keen surfer and gardener and I always prioritize the creation and maintaining of a joyful and curious environment as I’m a firm believer that happiness teaches better than stress!

About the lesson

I have six years experience in theory and solfeggio at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School learning from some of the best theory and musicianship teachers in the country. I wish to share this knowledge and experience with others and the accompanying joy and feeling of accomplishment that I now know so well. I use a hands-on approach that involves singing, basic piano playing, clapping and of course written work! Lessons can range between half an hour to an hour depending on the needs of the student. I teach theory up to around grade 4 and musicianship skills to beyond high school level. But all levels below that are welcome!!
