About Thomas
Since the age of 16 (9 years ago) I have tutored adults and children in subjects including History, Politics, Citizenship, Maths, and EFL. This has mostly been freelance, but I have also worked for schools and universities.
I worked with 11-18 years olds at the University of Reading for 2 years, mostly improving written English for university applications.
I taught a 7 week summer EFL camp in Germany.
I worked as an English assistant in Germany for 3 months.
I worked as an IELTS preparation teacher in Ireland for 3 months.
I currently proofread academic essays for Studiosity.
I have two TEFL qualifications (including CELTA), a BA in History (1st Class), and an MA in Public Humanities (Distinction).

I believe in the communicative method, which means lots of speaking and listening with writing and reading tasks as homework in preparation. However, I always listen to my students and change my lessons to what you need!
I like to start my lessons with a more casual conversation and deal with issues that come up naturally in native speech, before progressing onto more structured tasks before recapping.
