Personable and enthusiastic Cambridge graduate teaching English as a Foreign Language for students of all levels and all ages, in person or over Skype

About the lesson
I'm Rosie, a 23-year-old graduate based in Central East London with a First Class BA degree in Modern & Medieval Languages from the University of Cambridge. I give lessons to any student of any capability at any age - as long as there's enthusiasm to be found, I'm game! I prefer to teach in an interactive way: I believe that the best way to learn a foreign language - or indeed anything at all - is by speaking, writing and practising from the very beginning. I therefore often use role-play and other practical exercises when teaching EFL or any foreign language. However, I am a highly adaptable teacher, so will always mould my own methods to suit the individual/group of students. I might, for example, opt for more traditional sit-down grammar explanations and written activities if needed, so as to practise exam technique if applicable, and develop a detailed understanding of the topic or issue at hand.

I've been tutoring and teaching while studying for my A-levels, and then degree, for around 7 years. In that time, I've taught hundreds of students between the ages of 5 and 45. I've tutored in French (KS2 and GCSE), English (KS1 and EFL for French, Spanish, German and Cantonese native speakers) and Maths (KS1&2). The 4 GCSE students I tutored in French all attained their target grades of A, A, A, B; the foreign students to whom I've taught English have all expressed their satisfaction and gratitude for increased confidence in listening, writing and speaking; the younger KS1&2 students I've taught have all fed back that they really enjoyed themselves during their tuition, understood my clear explanations and loved the interactive learning games we played.
As the director of our association CREOLIA, I’ve enjoyed having Rosie as a volunteer. We all miss her and her contributions to our projects that involve teaching english as a foreign language.
Rosie impressed me with her ability to adapt to a new environnement , her open-mindedness and her general knowledge. She has shown excellent organization and communication skills and built good relationships characterized by mutual respect with students, parents and other members of the association.
Rosie is reliable and enthusiastic. Students were always happy to spend time with her and she was very dedicated to share her knowledge and experience.
I highly recommend Rosie for the position of instructor.
Rosie is one of the kindest and warmest people I know - she is just brilliant at making people feel comfortable around her. She is also an exceptionally strong person, a leader and a passionate learner. Combined with her love for teaching and passing on knowledge, these are traits that make Rosie the sort of tutor I wish had been around when I was in school.

If the travel to where tuition will take place is not feasible without using public transport, or spending more than 30 minutes travelling on foot/by bike, £3-5 will be charged in addition to the tuition fee in order to partially cover the travel expenses to and from the venue. Thank you for your understanding!
I am flexible with regards to timings. For example, if you would like 45 minutes of Skype tuition, I will happy to provide this at a proportionately discounted price.
if you would like to have private tuition as a pair with another student, the rate will be dropped to £20/hour per student. If there are 3 or more of you, £15/hour per student!
