About Skye-Patonne
My name is Skye-Patonne Mackriel and I am currently studying Sports Science. I am reaching out to express my strong interest in contributing to local sports and recreational programs in our community. With a growing academic background in exercise science, athlete development, and physical wellness, I am eager to apply my knowledge in a practical setting. I also bring practical experience through my current role coaching netball at a private school in Durbanville, and I am a qualified netball umpire. These experiences have strengthened my leadership skills, deepened my understanding of team dynamics, and reinforced my passion for developing athletes at all levels. I would love the opportunity to assist in opportunities with coaching, event planning, or general program support, anything that promotes physical activity and community engagement. I am enthusiastic about helping people stay active and healthy, and I’m confident that I can be a reliable and energetic addition to your team. If there are any openings or ways I can get involved, I would be thrilled to learn more. With a growing academic foundation in exercise science, athlete development, and physical wellness, I am eager to apply my knowledge in a hands-on environment.

Fitness lessons are focused on understanding and improving overall physical fitness. Overall fitness means being in good physical condition across all key areas of health-related fitness: cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition.
We’re going to start by warming up to get our bodies ready for movement and reduce the risk of injury. Then we’ll go through a series of exercises that target different parts of fitness. For example, cardio exercises like jumping jacks or jogging help strengthen the heart and lungs, while strength exercises like push-ups or squats build our muscles.
We’ll also focus on flexibility, using stretches to keep our muscles loose and improve our range of motion. At the end of the lesson, we’ll cool down and reflect on how the activities helped our fitness.
The goal is to build a balanced routine that supports lifelong health. Remember, fitness is not just about looking a certain way, it’s about feeling strong, having energy, and taking care of your body. No matter your current level, improvement is always possible with consistency and effort.
