About Rowan
I've studied ballet since I was 6 years old, and have been a professional since 19. Much of my time has been spent in a private-training setting, and through observing how my teacher taught me, I was able to learn how to teach one-on-one with my own colleagues at various schools and companies I went to.
I went back to school to study contemporary, modern, improv, and choreography at LINES Ballet to broaden my horizons, and become a more well-rounded dancer. Here I learned so much about myself, especially why I dance. Several teachers here also inspired me to become a teacher.

My classes focus on getting the individual to understand what takes them to the next level in their dancing. I don't just give the steps and/or corrections; I give you the tools for you to develop a heightened awareness that separates the student from the professional over time.
Generally in the first class, I would assess one's body and how it moves, and from there we can discuss my observations as well as the individual's goals for their dance journey. Classes can range from working solely at the barre for ballet/pointe, to doing a full 90 min standard class with warm-up exercises and giving detail-oriented corrections. If working on choreography, I would provide a short warm-up beforehand if needed.
