About Daniel

Hi, I’m Daniel Godchild, a professional composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist (piano and guitar). I have extensive experience teaching and performing jazz, classical, pop, gospel, and R&B music. I’ve conducted choirs and ensembles, composed original works, and helped students of all ages unlock their musical potential. My teaching focuses on building technique, creativity, and musical understanding. I combine classical foundations with improvisation, composition, and modern styles to create lessons that are engaging, personalized, and goal-driven. Whether you want to perform, compose, or deepen your knowledge of music, I’ll guide you step by step with patience and enthusiasm. Let’s make music together and bring your ideas to life!

About the lesson

I specialize in piano lessons that are fun, engaging, and tailored to YOU. Using a mix of technique-building exercises, improvisation, and composition practice, I help students develop not just skill but true musicality.

Teaching Method & Techniques:
Hands-on approach combining classical foundations with jazz, pop, gospel, and R&B
Ear training and improvisation exercises to build creativity and confidence
Composition and arranging integrated into lessons to develop a deeper understanding of music

A Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-up & technical exercises
Sight-reading or repertoire practice (or playing by ear for contemporary styles)
Improvisation & chord work
Composition or arranging exercises
Performance tips and practice assignments tailored to your goals

What Sets Me Apart:
I’m a professional composer and multi-instrumentalist with experience conducting choirs and ensembles
I teach both performance AND music creation, so lessons go beyond just learning notes
Focused on each student’s personal goals, whether it’s performing, composing, or understanding theory

Who the Lessons Are For:
Beginners to advanced students of all ages
Students interested in classical, jazz, pop, gospel, or R&B
Aspiring performers, songwriters, composers, or anyone wanting to understand music deeply
By the end of our lessons, you’ll play with confidence, create your own music, and enjoy every step of the journey.
