About Amrita
Hello, I’m Amrita, and music has been a part of my life since I was 5 years old. I come from a Bengali musical background and have developed a deep connection with Indian vocal music through professional training, regular practice and performance. I have around 7 years of training in Hindustani classical vocal music, with a particular interest in Khayal, along with experience in Carnatic compositions and around 5 years of bhajan and devotional singing.
I enjoy teaching because I love helping students discover their voice and become more confident through music. I believe in being patient, encouraging and attentive to each student’s individual learning style. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students can build strong musical foundations while genuinely enjoying the process.

My classes are structured, patient and personalized according to each student’s level and goals. I begin with the basics of pitch, shruti, swara, rhythm and voice technique, then gradually introduce ragas, compositions and songs through practical learning. I also include music theory, pronunciation, ear training and expression wherever needed. I teach Hindustani classical vocal, Carnatic-based compositions and bhajan/devotional singing to beginners and intermediate students, including children and adults. My aim is to make learning disciplined, enjoyable and confidence-building.
