About Sally

I know that statistics can be one of the more daunting parts of a psychology degree, particularly when you're trying to apply what you've learnt to your own research.

Having worked with undergraduate students, I've seen how much difference it can make when someone has the time to explain something properly, without assuming you already understand it.

I'm patient, approachable and happy to go over things as many times as needed. There's no such thing as a silly question, and I want students to feel comfortable saying when something doesn't make sense.

My aim is to help you understand what you're doing and why.

About the lesson

My approach is friendly and practical. I like to start by finding out what you're struggling with and work through it at your pace. Whether you're trying to understand a statistical test, use SPSS for an assignment or interpret your dissertation results, I aim to explain things clearly and help you feel more confident working independently.

I have a PhD in Psychology (Cognitive Neuroscience) from the University of Birmingham, where I also worked as a Teaching Assistant. During that time, I taught undergraduate psychology seminars and provided one-to-one support to students using SPSS for their dissertations.

Lessons are usually 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on what you need. If you let me know the topic beforehand, I can prepare examples relevant to your questions.

My sessions are aimed primarily at college and university students studying psychology or related subjects, including those who are new to statistics or finding quantitative research particularly challenging.
