About Gaby

Hi there! My name's Gaby and I'm currently a PhD (DPhil) student at Oxford University. I hold a BA (Hons) in Experimental Psychology, also from Oxford. I love tutoring because I'm passionate about psychology, and wish I had someone who knew the tips and tricks that I have gained throughout school and uni to make the learning process more enjoyable and guide me over the many hurdles I faced.

About the lesson

I've been tutoring for 4 years now, and have taken over 20 students through the process of GCSEs, A-Levels, the International Baccalaureate and much more. I've done a lot of work on personal statements, university/high school application and coursework marking, so my reach extends beyond tutoring in the standard school subjects. My lesson style is extremely guided by the student and their aims. I don't believe there is any one-size fits all approach to tutoring. What I do have is a wealth of resources and question banks that I can use to support my teaching in any area. I love to work with my students on not just grasping the material but also figuring out how to really enjoy the subject they're doing! I believe that along with tackling the syllabus material, helping my students to organise their time, revision and work styles is key to helping them be a more well-rounded student, and provides them with far more long-term benefits when they finish their time with me.
