About Mikhled

Hi! I'm Mokhled, a Palestinian from Jordan. I graduated from university around four years ago, where I studied Psychological Counseling. I currently work in the field of youth and community development and even run a store in downtown Amman dedicated to providing a space for Jordanian and Palestinian refugee artisans to sell their artwork.

Teaching has long been an interest of mine, particularly as I have helped run several youth initiatives in my community in the past few years. I gained experience tutoring foreigners in Arabic when volunteering at a non-profit restaurant in Amman (which foreigners and Arabic-language learners often volunteer at). I loved our cross-cultural exchanges, shared through language-exchange and education, and of course, food! My five years of experience tutoring foreigners in Arabic in all levels at this restaurant makes me prepared and excited to meet new tutees online!

About the lesson

I tailor my lessons to my students and their needs, focusing on three main points:

- emphasis on conversation skills - you will get a lot of practice speaking! I like to engage my tutees in interesting discussions, often related to current events, depending on their language skills
- perfecting accents and correct Arabic pronunciation
- cultural fluency: introducing tutees to commonly used Arabic phrases, Palestinian culture, music, art, and history.

I also offer lessons on reading comprehension/analysis and writing if desired.

These lessons are for anyone at any point in their Arabic journey. I welcome those who are just beginning to those who are nearly fluent and just want conversation practice.
