About Pratish

Namaste! I am Pratish.

I completed my 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training at a Yoga Alliance-registered school in Rishikesh[span. Having guided more than 800 students across India and internationally—including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, UAE, and various European countries, I understand how to tailor sessions for diverse individual needs.

My engineering background gives me a practical, analytical understanding of body movement and individual differences, which I combine with my traditional training to create practices suited specifically to your body.

YOGA FOR YOUR NEEDS

My classes support students who want to:

- Manage Back and Neck Pain: Improve mobility, ease stiffness, and support everyday comfort.
- Improve Posture: Develop healthier movement habits, particularly after long hours of desk work.
- Manage Stress: Use mindful movement, breathing, and relaxation to feel calmer.
- Improve Fitness: Develop strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility.
- Relax and Sleep Better: Learn calming practices to support restful sleep.
- Maintain Overall Wellbeing: Build a regular yoga practice for a healthier lifestyle.

MY CLASS FORMATS

I offer three personalised online yoga formats:

- 1:1 Personalised Yoga: Individual sessions tailored specifically to your personal goals.
- Couple Yoga: Guided practice designed for two participants.
- Private Small-Group Yoga: Closed groups of 3–5 students (minimum 3 students required to start)

MY TEACHING APPROACH

Yoga should adapt to you, not the other way around.

You do not need previous experience or exceptional flexibility to begin. My aim is to help you develop a sustainable yoga practice that supports your physical health, mental wellbeing, and overall quality of life.

My classes combine traditional yoga practices with anatomy-informed movement, mindful breathing and structured learning.

MY TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Explain → Demonstrate → Observe → Correct → Adapt → Progress

I explain and demonstrate each movement, provide real-time verbal guidance and alignment corrections, and adapt the sequence and difficulty to your abilities.

The focus is on understanding each practice, building confidence and progressing gradually through appropriate modifications.

MY RANGE OF YOGA PRACTICES

Practices are selected according to your goals, experience and individual suitability.

- 60 Traditional Yoga Asanas: Gradually introduced to develop flexibility, mobility, strength, core stability and body awareness.

- 50 Pranayama Techniques and Combinations: Traditional breathing practices to develop breath awareness, concentration and relaxation.

- Specialised Breathing Techniques: Swaiso, Golden Nugget, Parshuram and Valmiki Pranayama, alongside conventional techniques.

- Surya Namaskar: Traditional Sun Salutations introduced progressively.

- Meditation and Mindfulness: Practices to cultivate awareness, focus and relaxation.

- Yoga Nidra and Shavasana: Guided relaxation practices to help you unwind.

- Jal Neti Guidance: Introduction to this traditional yogic nasal-cleansing practice where appropriate, with attention to hygiene and safe technique.

You do not need to learn all 60 asanas or 50 pranayama techniques at once. They are introduced progressively over time.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

Yoga became an important part of my own life because I experienced how a consistent practice can support physical well-being, mental calmness and greater balance in daily life. This experience motivated me to study yoga more deeply and eventually make teaching it my profession.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

My own experience with yoga showed me how valuable a consistent, well-guided practice can be for physical and mental well-being. I became fascinated by the depth of yoga and wanted to help others experience its practical benefits through personalized guidance.
  • How does your work help society?

Through yoga, I help people develop practical practices that support stress management, mobility, strength, flexibility, relaxation and overall physical and mental wellness. I adapt the practice to each student's needs rather than following the same routine for everyone.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

If I had to choose a role model for my work as a yoga teacher, it would be Maharshi Patanjali. He is traditionally credited with compiling the Yoga Sutras, which provide a clear framework for understanding yoga as a path of physical well-being, mental balance, self-discipline, and inner growth.

What inspires me most is that these teachings remain practical and timeless. They show that yoga is not only about physical postures, but also about breath awareness, mindfulness, emotional balance, and living with greater awareness in everyday life.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside of yoga, I enjoy reading books on self-growth and spirituality, listening to soothing music, and singing. I also love traveling to peaceful, remote places to connect with the beauty and serenity of nature. Spending time with my childhood friends brings me joy and helps me stay grounded.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One of my students came to me experiencing significant stress and difficulty sleeping due to work pressure. Through regular online yoga practice, along with breathing and relaxation techniques, the student gradually experienced improvements in relaxation, sleep and daytime energy. Seeing this positive change was one of the most rewarding moments of my teaching journey and reinforced why I value personalized, consistent guidance.
