My Teaching philosophy
I value my students and helping them is my role, to model their complex ways of thinking so that they can develop the healthy habits of healthy mind .My goal is to empower the students to become self-learners and lifelong learners. All my efforts inside and outside the class is oriented towards this.
My ideal classroom is primarily a safe and comfortable place where students of diverse background and experience are encouraged to clarify their thoughts and expose their assumptions .On whichever level I teach, I intend that my courses are enriching to my students of diverse background in various ways that will suit their particular academic and personal needs.I wish to encourage mastery, competency, transformational learning, life-long learning, general transference of skills, critical thinking through different strategies of teaching .While confronting my students with the challenge of learning new cultures, I encourage them to reflect on their own beliefs and try to open their minds to new ways of seeing things. In my classes I try to expose the students to different situations to help them gain these skills, including interacting with classmates with different backgrounds taking different roles when working in teams and taking different roles when working individually and towards this I integrate technical tools for extensive learning. By doing so, I hope to provide students the opportunity to develop problem solving skills and multi-cultural understanding
The strategies used for teaching enables the students to Detect and fill gaps in students and Improving their understanding among themselves ,Develop a sense about problem-solving strategies, Enabling and Empowering students to develop their basic computational skills . Also Motivate students to make an effort to make judgments, Open doors to other opportunities by helping them understand their own perception in preparing them to be knowledgeable about thought processing. As a teacher I am committed to using peer review in my classes. By reading and commenting on other students work my students learn to find their voice.
By focusing on teaching fundamental concepts to Facilitate acquisition of life-long learning enhances the adaptability of new approach in my students.
It’s important to discuss course materials, lesson plans, activities, assignments, assessments etc. Thus helping my students to be informed learners knowing their learning outcomes.
