About Pratha

Learning something new—especially tech or data skills like SQL and Excel—can feel intimidating. You might worry about asking "silly" questions or getting stuck behind a screen. I want to put those worries to rest right away: you are in a completely patient, judgment-free zone here.

While I have 8 years of backend development experience working closely with databases and code, I am also actively learning and diving deeper into data and SQL right along with you. I don't claim to know everything; rather, I know what it’s like to constantly evolve, hit roadblocks, and figure things out. That shared journey actually makes me a better teacher for you.

Because I spent nearly a decade in backend engineering, I have a rock-solid foundation in how systems and databases work under the hood. But because I am currently navigating the data world myself, I completely understand the modern learning curve. I know the exact moments where frustration creeps in, and I know how to break complex concepts down into clear, bite-sized steps that actually make sense.

My promise to you:

No confusing jargon: We will talk in plain, simple English.
A collaborative space: We will write queries, fix errors, and build spreadsheets together—you’re never left figuring it out alone.

A shared growth mindset: We will focus on practical, real-world skills that I am actively testing, learning, and applying myself.
Whether you are an absolute beginner starting from square one, a student trying to pass a database class, or a professional looking to add data skills to your toolkit, I am here to guide you step-by-step. Let's learn and grow together!

About the lesson

1. My Teaching Methodology
I focus on hands-on, practical learning over heavy theory. With 8 years of backend engineering experience, I teach you how databases actually work under the hood. We learn by writing live queries, fixing errors together, and building problem-solving intuition rather than just memorizing syntax.

2. A Typical Lesson Plan
Quick Check-In (5 mins): Review any roadblocks, homework, or specific problems you faced.
Core Concept & Practice (45 mins): We dive into a specific SQL query pattern or Excel technique, working through real-world examples together interactively.
Action Plan (10 mins): We wrap up with a quick summary and a small practice task to reinforce what you learned.

3. What Sets Me Apart
Real-World Backend Experience: I’ve spent nearly a decade working with live databases, giving me deep practical insight into how data flows.
Patient & Empathetic: As someone constantly learning new tech myself, I provide a judgment-free, encouraging space for beginners.
Zero Jargon: I break complex database concepts down into clear, plain English.

4. Who My Lessons Are For
Absolute beginners with zero prior tech experience.
Career switchers and professionals wanting to add SQL and Excel to their resume.
Students tackling data or database classes who need patient guidance.
