• When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  I developed an interest in the SQE because it is an essential component in qualifying as a solicitor. I passed my SQE 1 exams in January 2025 and my SQE 2 exams in April 2025.
  
  Whilst preparing for the SQE was an intense experience, I was grateful for the opportunity to immerse myself in so many legal subjects and found that I liked all of them (though some, like solicitors accounts, took some getting used to).
  
  I understand how difficult preparing for the SQE can be and offer my tuition services to help make this process easier for my students.

• Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I am available to support students with SQE 1 and SQE 2 subjects, and can also provide guidance on general preparation technique.

• Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  I had an excellent professor at university that used the Socratic method of teaching. I found their seminars memorable because of this method, so I make use of it in tuition sessions where possible.

• What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  Many qualities are needed to be a great tutor, but they include strong subject knowledge, a simple delivery and an approach tailored to a student’s needs.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  It is important to do practice questions when preparing for the SQE, not only to help with active recall of knowledge, but also to practise applying that knowledge in the SQE's single best answer style question format. I completed over 5,000 practice questions before my SQE 1 exams.

• What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

  The greatest difficulty with the SQE is the amount of content that needs to be learned, especially when you are struggling with challenging concepts alone. I make the process easier for students by providing simple explanations to guide them through any areas of difficulty.

• Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  I enjoy teaching and seeing my students improve their understanding of SQE content.
  
  I also enjoy reading, especially classics.
