About M
I hold a diploma in early years education while having extensive experience working with students ranging from preschools to secondary schools. I believe teachers hold the power to transform lives and the role of teachers isn't merely a deliverer of knowledge. In fact, teachers are called to empower students. I love to help and watch my students succeed in their own terms. Additionally, I have an educational assistant background in secondary schools which equips me with a deep understanding of various learning needs and strategies to support my students. I also hold a TESOL certificate accredited by TESOL Canada. Therefore, I am familiar with standardized curriculum of LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) provided through the National Settlement Program.

My lesson is personalized, student-centered and fun. I believe in meaningful and hands-on learning instead of rote memorization. My method of teaching incorporates real life tasks in the context of relationship and interaction with the world around us. I start my lesson with a warm up and/or a review. I model for my students to set them up for success, followed by allowing ample time for students to practice and interact with materials in order to experience learning. I take their emotional wellbeing into consideration as it can impact students' learning progress significantly. I view myself as a facilitator, coach, mentor and a cheerleader alongside my students.
